Field trials

The service system and the services offered are tested in field trials conducted in real end user environment. In addition to the inhabitants of Oulu, participation is open to tourists and visitors – basically anyone. The field trials give valuable information of the technical performance of the service system, the usability of services, real consumer needs, consumer behaviour and the functioning of earnings models. The services are developed further on the basis of field trial feedback and automatically collected usage information.

Service concept evaluations

Besides the actual field trials, the Rotuaari project includes short-term testing of a number of individual service concepts; a single testing event usually involves a few dozen test users.
